Southern Georgian Bay offers a natural blend of breathtaking landscapes, wildlife diversity, picturesque harbours and parklands. We will be camping at the Lafontaine Carefree Rv Camp just to the west of Penetanguishene with the shores of Georgian Bay minutes away to the north, west and east. Our camp sites are grouped together in a quiet, peaceful setting amongst the forest. Washrooms/showers and swimming pool close by. We will also have a group area for a camp fire sing-a-long
Cycling mostly on back country roads and along Georgian Bay and it’s unlimited number of beaches. We will offer a variety of cycling routes featuring mostly level terrain with some hills for those who like a challenge. Some mountain biking is possible in the area but will not be officially offered. Awenda Provincial Park is close by and offers cycling, hiking trails, canoeing and relaxing at the beaches along Georgian Bay.

On site catered breakfast, lunch and dinner will leave more time for cycling.

Optional ($20 fee ) Saturday evening dance to celebrate “Festival Du Loop” (Howling Wolf) recognizing 400 years of French settlement in Ontario. Featuring traditional French fiddlers and some great foot stomping live music. I attended the event last year and really enjoyed it.

If people come up early on Friday there are a number of other cool things to do in the area.
– Miss Midland 30,000 Island Boat Cruise- Midland
– Wye Marsh – Midland
– Sainte- Marie amongst the Hurons -Midland
– Martyr’s Shrine – Midland
– Discovery Harbour – Penetang
